Evan Roth est un artiste numérique travaillant sur les usages non-conventionnels (hacking) des technologies. Fondateur du graffiti reseach Lab, collectif utilisant des technologies open-sources dans un cadre urbain. Cette oeuvre est simplement l'ensemble des balises html existantes en 2011 imbriquées les unes dans les autres. Le resultat est ce bloc hermétique et absurde. Il est intéressant de voir les différences formelles entre les navigateurs et leurs versions. On peut considérer cette oeuvre comme in-situ, celle-ci prenant une forme différente suivant son environnement et en fonction de l'époque.

Windows 93 est une oeuvre parodiant un OS microsoft des années 90. On y trouve une foule de délires graphiques et de références à la culture geek des années 90. Un site très simple mais qui pose beaucoup de questions. On peut connaître 24/7 la présence de l'artiste derrière son écran. On entre ainsi dans son intimité, dans l'acte de taper sur son clavier en se demandant ce qu'il peut faire: des emails privés? professionnels? du code? des recherches? C'est aussi un clin d'œil aux services de messagerie instantanés ne laissant pas une seconde de répis aux utilisateurs en montrant à l'interlocuteur s'il est en ligne, s'il a vu le message où s'il est en train d'y répondre.
